Kids for Africa Sports Academy

Kids For Africa Sports Academy (KFA) was founded in 2009 by Asimwe Marvin and Atuyambe Raymond in a local community of Masajja B Zone-Busabala, about 6km away from Kampala the capital of Uganda.

Growing up in the same area both Marvin and Raymond had witnessed many of their peers driven to drug addiction and unable to complete any formal education due to the effects of poverty. Crime, substance abuse, obesity and academic failure were common pitfalls that many youth struggled to overcome.

While on vacation in 2009, Marvin was inspired to develop KFA in the hopes of creating a positive direction for young children who had lots of unproductive time on their hands. Thinking back on when Marvin was a young soccer player in these same areas, he discovered that group sports fostered individual talent, cooperation and a sense of equality.

Marvin has come a long way since this initial goal, in 2015 KFA Sports Academy was legally established as a not for profit and in 2018, the government of Uganda recognized the work of KFA and granted it legal permission to operate as a charity organization under the National Bureau for NGO’s.
